About the event

This hands-on workshop, designed for kids aged 7-12 (with an adult partner), blends creativity with science, engineering, and design. Together, pairs will plan, design, and craft a balloon/rubber band-powered vehicle using recycled materials, bringing both artistic flair and functional engineering into play. The process emphasizes creativity, from designing the look of the vehicle to experimenting with different materials and colours. Kids will explore concepts like propulsion and physics in a fun, artistic way, and at the end of the workshop, they’ll take home their own one-of-a-kind vehicle, made entirely from recycled materials and uniquely their own.


Trish Marx of Chaos Collective, is a queer, neurodivergent educator with over three years of experience running arts and science programs for children at festivals, libraries, and community centers.
